Well, thanks to a great friend, I got some Fight Klub Cards today. I went through them all, then put together the two recommended decks and we played our first “real” game during the lunch break. Now, I will give you my impressions of the cards and the game.
As always Decipher has done an outstanding job on the cards, and the packaging is also quite awesome, and functional. The first think you see when you get a kilo is a thick black cardboard box. Very simply, yet very nice. Once you open that you see your Fight Klub tuck box, which can be used to carry two unsleeved 40 card decks and energy stones (in the energy stone box included with One). I do have to say I really like the outside box also, and it seems like it would be just right for a sleeved deck. The cards themselves look great, and Decipher has once again proved that they are superb when it comes to making cards from screen captures in movies. Now since some of these movies aren’t exactly kiddy material (ie. Saw, Army of Darkness, Rambo, etc) there are some cards that definitely exceed the “G rated” nature of some games. Also, all the information is placed on the cards in a way to make them very easy to read and easy to play with.
I’ve said that gameplay is easy for other games, like Redemption, but for Fight Klub, game play is very easy. It’s the first game where I could read through the rule book and actually understand how to play before I picked up the first card. Of course it still takes a little time to get used to the cards, and remember all the phases and such, but overall it’s a very easy and quick game. Once you get it down well, you could be playing a game in 15 – 20 minutes.
So overall I’m very pleased with this game, and very excited about it’s future. Now I just need to get more cards so I can build more decks. I’ve also got some pictures below for you guys to check out, and if you think you might be interested in playing, just go to http://www.decipher.com, and say hostsofheaven sent you.
