As some of you know, I have been wanting to make custom geocache containers for quite some time now. I have even made some, but haven’t gotten to hide any of them yet. However I do have one puzzle cache I’ve been wanting to get hidden as a sort of a “preview” to a Lord of the Rings series I’m trying to get out. Now as far as it being an actual preview, the only similarities between it and the series will probably be the fact that it’s based off a place found in Middle Earth…. and it’s going to be hard as crap.
I was planning on getting this out in the wild yesterday, but I never really felt like I had it finished and ready to go. Of course the cache is well stocked, with a nice little FTF prize, since it’s going to be so darn tricky, but I felt something was missing. Of course I knew it needed a log, but I was just going to get a little notepad of some sort and throw in there. That just didn’t feel right though, so I sent my brain into think mode, and what I came up with is quite nice I think. It’s a custom logbook. Something I do believe I will try to start doing in all my bigger caches, and especially my themed ones. So, without further ado, take a gander at the preliminary log book for my upcoming puzzle cache “The Hidden City of Gondolin”!
