I’ve heard it time and time again that our lives are just pieces of God’s bigger picture, that we all play parts in his massive story, but that really came home after reading Million Miles. I mean, the fact that the story is not about us is amazing, but what’s even more amazing to me is that God loves us enough to give us each our own story within his story, and that’s what Donald Miller writes about. He focuses on his story and what he learns while editing his life (Google “Blue Like Jazz” the movie”). What Donald seems to learn and what I got from “Million Miles” is that while we are part of God’s bigger story, our own stories should not be boring and bland. We should make our stories adventurous and exciting. The reason so many people turn away from God is because they feel that they are not offered a chance at a better story, and what we need to show them is that God’s story is not just a better one, it is the BEST one! This book is well worth reading, and it will leave you wanting to make your story better, just like it did me!
