After talking with my wife the other day about our finances and such, I decided I could not, in our current situation, continue to pay for web hosting. It had always been kind of scary for me to think about going back to free webhosting, especially since the last time I did that was in high school, and it was way crappy. I hate ads and all that mess, and have not wanted to go back to having them posted all over my website whether I wanted them or not. Then I took a look at what I was actually using my web hosting for.
That’s right, I’ve been paying for unlimited webhosting in order for me and my wife to both have blogs. So I decided I would try and find something that would work just as good, but for free, and here we are at wordpress.com. Completely free, and guess what? It took less than a minute to export all my posts from my old blog and import them here. Of course when all my old files get deleted I’ll have a problem with some of the images, but I can live with that.
Anyway, that’s one more sacrifice toward saving money and getting out of debt. What’s next? Who knows. Maybe I’ll start selling a lot of useless crap again.
