I was listening to Rick and Bubba this morning and they had none other than Leo Laporte as a guest on their show. He was talking about how he went from having a cable tv show to have a network of shows on the internet (twit.tv). Throughout the segment they talked about how just about anyone could have a tv show on the internet now, and I have to say it got me a little inspired, especially when Leo said something about a show on chipmunks… Ok, so maybe not chipmunks, but it did get me thinking about how I have wanted to do some sort of podcast for quite some time now. The problem however, has been that with the wide variety of things I am interested in, what would I do my podcast one? It would be hard for me to choose just one thing. Then I thought, why do I have to choose? I like reading, (and I already review books), so why not do a book review as part of my podcast. I can then throw in geocaching, computers, video games, cross stitching (yes I said cross stitching), and whatever else I’m interested in at the time. If I don’t feel like talking about one of the things, I’ll just talk about something else instead. Sounds good right? Of course it does. So then comes the question do we do video or audio? Audio would be easiest of course, but then I remember that I have access to plenty of camera’s, so why not use them? What’s keeping me from starting the PhilsnextKick podcast or even a weekly online show for that matter? Yep, nothing at all. So, as soon as I can find the time, I am going to sit down and try to get the first episode recorded, and see how far I can take this thing. I’ve already got 2 book reviews I need to do, so even if that’s all I talk about in the first episode that should be enough. Look for it soon, and will at least one person out there get excited about this and post a comment below letting me know that you’re excited about it? If enough people get excited I might even give something away on my first episode (and I do have some pretty nice crap laying around, just ask my wife).
