When I first heard the commercial for this audio bible on the radio, I thought it would be an insanely awesome thing to have. To hear each character in the bible being acted out by different people instead of one person simply reading it back to me was something that I thought would make this book come alive even more than it already was. I began to hope that BookSneeze.com would put this up as a Blogger Review book, since it was published by Thomas Nelson, and when I saw it on their site, I was incredibly excited. I waited with eager anticipation for my copy to arrive, and when it came I could not contain myself. I pulled out the first disc with Matthew Chapter 1 (possible one of the most boring chapters in the bible some may say) and secured my headphones as it started to play.
In my opinion, Matthew Chapter 1 is still pretty boring with all the so and so begat so and so, but when I started to hear the different voices come out, and the different characters come alive, I was hooked. It definitely lived up to my expectations and I have to say I absolutely love it! One thing I don’t like is the break at the end of some of the chapters, but I can also see how some times that cannot be avoided or is actually necessary. Over all though, this is probably the best audio bible I have ever experience, and short of actually turning the bible into a movie, it may very well be the best experience I have had with any type of bible media. There’s just something different about hearing each person’s voice and I would suggest this to anyone looking for a good audio bible!
Now I just need to get the Old Testament too!
