Professor Paul Binder is leaving his house one day, headed to class when he hears a loud crash just down the road. He runs out to find a wrecked car with a dead man and a letter inside. The letter is addressed to Paul. He is then led on to discover a lost copy of the ancient Diatesssaron, a book combining the four gospels of the almost extinct religion of Christianity. From here Paul is led on a journey that will take the world to it’s very end.
I found this book quite easy to read, despite it’s fairly large size, and as the authors intended, it does engage you intellectually. It was also very interesting to start reading this book around the same time as yet another false prediction of the end of the world, and I guess it caused me to see it in a slightly different light. While some may agree with the outlook of this book, and some may not, it is still a very well written piece of fiction that I would definitely recommend to others.
