If you’re my friend on Facebook, then you may have seen me talking about starting this Whole 30 thing. You may have even heard of it yourself, but if not, Whole 30 is basically a 30 day eating plan (based on the paleo diet) that reboot, retrains and heals your body from all the negative effects of the bad food you have been eating all your life. You can check it out for yourself at whole9life.com, or by reading the book “It Starts with Food.”
Once I looked over the program, and read through the amazing testimonials, I figured why not try it? It’s only 30 days and there can’t really be any harm in eating better food right? So we began to attempt to set a start date. We had two or three before we finally settled on today. I had already started to incorporated some of the good food into my diet, but wasn’t 100% and what I noticed was that when I ate the “good” food I almost always felt better than when I would eat “bad” food. That solidified it for me even more.
So even though we won’t make our first shopping trip until tomorrow night, we’re going to start today and plow through these two days with food that we already have in the house. We may not be perfect, but we are definitely cutting out the bad stuff!
Now, what I’m going to try to do is post every day journaling my progress with the Whole 30 so that I can share how it’s affecting me as well as keep myself accountable. Since I want to sum up the entire day with each journal post, I’m planning on writing them throughout the day, then posting them at night or in the morning the next day. Either way, I’ll post it on Facebook at both times to make sure everyone knows there’s a new post… or you could just follow my blog and get email reminders… If any of you don’t see a new post for a day by the next morning though, get on to me! Keep me accountable!
Yea, so with all that said, here we go. Off on our journey to better health!
