What exactly is my passion? I’ve heard it said many times that when you find what you are truly passionate about then you have found what you should be doing for the rest of your life. This makes a person’s passion a very important thing. The problem I seem to have is that what I am passionate about seems to depend on what mood I’m in at the time. I could say I’m passionate about crafts, but I’m not always cross stitching, knitting or crocheting. I could say I’m passionate about fishing, but I really don’t spend that much time out on the water. I could even say I’m passionate about filming and creating videos, but there are some times I don’t even want to be near a camera.
The problem I seem to run into is that I find many things that I like and enjoy, but none of them ever seem to turn into a true passion. There are a few that I believe I could enjoy enough to be my true passion, but either I am not putting forth enough effort into making it happen, or I don’t enjoy them as much as I think I do. I’m not really sure which one it is either, so that still leaves me with the question, “What is my passion?”
For those of you who have found your true passion, was it something that came to you, something you always knew, or something you had to work for? There are times I really do want to find that one thing I am most passionate about, but then again I think what would be better, to be really great at one thing I enjoy, or kinda good at a few things I enjoy. What does everyone else think?
I haven’t blogged in a long time, and I don’t really have a good excuse why, so I won’t bother making one. I just decided I wanted to write something today though, so here I am.
As all my friends and family know, I actually do have quite a number of hobbies, and I’m almost always finding something else to get interested in. The most recent thing that I’m really want to start is home brewing. I’ve done a couple small brewing projects in the past like brewing some kombucha, attempting some hard cider and most recently a “Redneck Wine” (grapefruit juice, table sugar and bread yeast), but I have yet to actually get into brewing any beer. I’m hoping that will change soon, but I guess we’ll see won’t we.
On another note, while watching videos on home brewing, I am once again getting interested in trying to do some sort of video series type thing. I don’t really have a clue what type of videos I would want to do, whether it be teaching some of the crafts/hobbies I am currently into, documenting my new experiences and hobbies, or maybe just a combination of all sorts of things. Part of me wants to do something people will actually watch, but the other part of me doesn’t really care if other people want to watch it or not. So, I guess we’ll see if I ever get over the lazy bug enough to actually venture forth fully into the world of videos.
So homebrew and videos aren’t the only ideas I’ve had… there seem to always be a plethora out there, from hobbies, wanting to get healthy and fit, getting interested in more hobbies, and whatever else may come up. Even if for some obscene reason I ever got to the point where I wanted to ditch some of my hobbies, I’m sure ten more would pop right up to take their place.
Anyway, I’m done writing now. Off to watch more homebrew videos!
